The Arkansas Restorative Initiative (ARI) seeks to address the persistent challenge of recidivism in Northwest Arkansas through innovative programs focused on mental health and reentry support. With current recidivism rates as high as 48.8% among male offenders and 33% among female offenders, there is an urgent need for targeted interventions. By implementing evidence-based strategies, ARI aims to reduce these rates to below 38%, ultimately saving taxpayers millions while improving public safety and individual lives.

Program Description:
1. Mental Health Services: Weekly in-person therapy sessions for incarcerated individuals focusing on trauma recovery, coping skills, and anger management.
2. Transitional Housing: Provide six months of safe, affordable housing for recently released individuals, offering stability during reintegration.
3. Job Training and Placement: Partner with local employers and workforce development programs to equip individuals with skills and ensure placement in stable jobs.

Goals and Objectives:
Reduce recidivism rates from 48.8% to below 38% within five years. Save taxpayers approximately $1.5 million annually by decreasing repeat incarcerations. Serve 150 participants annually, with 75% securing stable employment within one year of release.
